On November 7, 2018, the Museum of Contemporary Art Querétaro (MACQ) was inaugurated, dependent on the Ministry of Culture of the State of Querétaro. Located on the Sangremal hill, where the Convent of the Holy Cross was built in 1640, the building has served as a military barracks and primary school. Abandoned in 2008, it was restored and now has 2,400 square meters of exhibition rooms, project rooms, a library, wine cellars and a museography room, promoting contemporary art and community participation.
