Window to the Sierra
Service Description
Your day begins with a journey to an ancient volcanic dome from the late Miocene, known worldwide as Peña de Bernal. Admire this unique formation while crossing Querétaro’s semi-desert, surrounded by striking landscapes of barrel cacti, desert flora, and yucca forests. From a natural lookout, enjoy breathtaking views of Cerro de la Media Luna. As the altitude rises, the climate and vegetation shift, leading us to Puerta del Cielo — a magical viewpoint that feels like touching the clouds. The road continues to Pinal de Amoles, a charming town often hidden by mist. Here, we’ll hike along the Escanela River, through the narrow Angostura Canyon, and reach the enchanting Puente de Dios. Our adventure continues with a visit to El Chuveje Waterfall, where a 30-meter cascade flows into crystal-clear pools surrounded by lush forest. We’ll end the day with a hearty mountain-style meal and a visit to the Magical Town of Jalpan de Serra, exploring the Sierra Gorda Historical Museum and the Franciscan Mission of Santiago de Jalpan, both rich in history and culture. Minimum of 2 participants required.
